Newton County can be found in the northern part of Arkansas in the heart of the Ozarks. The county has a population of 8,608 and encompasses the towns of Jasper, Western Grove and Marble Falls. The area has become quite popular with tourists, largely due to the Buffalo River, which runs right through the tiny town of Jasper. The river offers guests a variety of activities, such as camping, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. There are a number of campgrounds and resorts along the Buffalo River, which feature RV sites, tent rentals and cabin rentals.

Barn on the Buffalo

The Barn on the Buffalo offers guests a choice of cabins, located on 8.5 acres right next to the Buffalo River. The resort offers fishing, swimming near a sandy beach and kayaking. Hiking trails provide an opportunity to see deer, elk and rabbits. The Barn itself offers a one and three bedroom unit and the cabins offer one or three bedrooms and can sleep up to nine guests. All units feature a fully-equipped kitchen, full bath, satellite television and air-conditioning. Nearby attractions include Newton County's own canoe trips, rock climbing and horseback riding trails.

Little Switzerland

Little Switzerland can be found in Newton County just a few miles from the banks of the Buffalo River. The resort offers guests a choice of cabins or chalets which can sleep from two to 11 guests. All units provide fully-equipped kitchens, fireplaces, barbecue grills, washers, dryers and cable television. Some also feature game rooms and pool tables. Bull Shoals Lake is just a short drive away, as well as attractions like the Ozark Folk Center.

Ozark Mountain Cabins

Ozark Mountain Cabins offer visitors their choice of four log cabins, all nestled in the heart of the Ozarks. All cabins sit on the mountain ridge and the property is bordered by the Ozark National Forest and the Buffalo National River Park. The river is just a few minutes drive from the cabins, where guests can enjoy a swimming area, volleyball and hiking trails. All cabins are surrounded by trees on three sides, and one side features a 20 mile view of the river. The units feature fully-equipped kitchens, rock fireplaces, barbecue grills and air-conditioning and the largest can sleep up to eight guests.
