Accommodations in Jekyll Island, Georgia
Halfway down the coast in the State of Georgia, Jekyll Island acts as a barrier island to the Atlantic Ocean. The island is an interesting mix of carefully preserved historic ruins, an historic town, nature trails, and a summer beach resort. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center works to save endangered sea turtles and visitors can take a tour. Jekyll Island contains the biggest public golf resort in the state, with three 18-hole courses, and Summer Waves is a large water park with slides, pools and more for the whole family. Accommodations on the island range from historic buildings to value conscious motels.
