The Claiborne House Bed & Breakfast
Situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the historic district of Rocky Mount, The Claiborne House Bed & Breakfast was built in 1895 and features events and special packages that change often. Each of the uniquely decorated rooms features cable TV and wireless Internet. Some rooms also feature fireplaces. The property, which features a 130-foot wraparound porch, is the starting point for Crooked Road, Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, and is also near Smith Mountain Lake, which offers 500 miles of shoreline. Each morning, guests receive a home-cooked breakfast (the chef's choice), featuring everything from waffles to sweet potato pie. A public refrigerator also offers free sodas and snacks. A guest parlor offers games and books, and the property is only three blocks from a movie theater and sports bar. A portion of the income from each room goes to CASA, an organization that helps foster kids. This property does not allow smoking, pets, or children under 14; however, mothers with babies are welcome to stay in the cottage.
