Port Orford is a fishing village on the southern coast of Oregon that offers visitors plenty of appealing local attractions, including Battle Rock Beach and Paradise Point Beach. Visitors can hike and mountain bike at Port Orford State Park, Humbug Parks and many more locations. They can also engage in waterfront and outdoor sports or go golfing and touring the local art galleries and old lighthouses. Castaway by the Sea Motel

Located on Oregon's coast, this motel has 13 non-smoking rooms and a vacation rental for larger groups. It offers a good view of the ocean and surrounding scenic spots. Guests can use the Wi-Fi Internet access in the motel rooms but not at the vacation rental. Except for the two standard guest rooms, all other rooms have sun porches with ocean views. Guests can surf or wind surf at Paradise Point Beach or fish and dive at the lakes and rivers nearby. All 18 rooms in this motel have views of the ocean, because it is perched atop cliffs overlooking the blue expanse. Each room has basic amenities plus free premium channels and local calls. In March, kite flying is a popular endeavor, and May welcomes waterfront sports such as kayaking, surfing and diving. Hiking to Humbug Mountain and cycling the Highway 101 bike trail are also among the many activities guests can engage in at this pet-friendly property.

Shoreline Motel

Another lodging facility within the coastal village of Port Orford, Ore., is the Shoreline Motel, which offers rooms that are fully carpeted and have parking awnings and walk-in showers. Most rooms are non-smoking, and the property allows animals for a minimal fee (as of January 2010). Guests can walk to the nearby Battle Rock Park to admire the beach, or they can stroll to nearby Paula's Bistro or to The Crazy Norwegian's Fish-n-Chips for a meal.
