Reno, Nevada offers plenty of outdoor activities, including skiing at one of many ski resorts, such as Squaw Valley, Mt. Rose, Heavenly Mountain and Diamond Peak. Atlantis Casino Resort Spa

The Atlantis offers a variety of rooms and suites. Grand Penthouse Suites include adjoining bedrooms and parlor, 42-inch flat-screen TV, granite wet bar, California king beds, Jacuzzi, fireplace, key-card elevator service, 24-hour butler service and Concierge Lounge access. Royal Dolphin Tower rooms are smoke-free and offer a choice of one king or two queens. The Economy Motor Lodge allows two pets of no more than 40 lbs. for an additional fee. Rates in March range from $150 at the Motor Lodge to $240 per night for a Royal Dolphin Tower room; rates vary throughout the year. Guests have use of the pools, outdoor spa and sundeck (seasonal). The casino features smoke-free areas. The spa boasts a full-service salon, Jacuzzi, cold water pool, heated lounges and floor, fitness center and saunas. Cost of the fitness center is $7.50 per day; spa costs are separate. Restaurants include Bistro Napa, a steakhouse, deli, cafe, buffet and grill, oyster and sushi bar, and a 24-hour cafe. There is also a sports bar and lounge, fun center arcade and snack bar. The Atlantis provides complimentary shuttle service to the airport and has valet and self-parking.

Grand Sierra Resort and Casino

The Grand Sierra offers luxury rooms and suites and an RV park. A 10-dollar daily resort fee provides guests valet parking, health club access, two bottles of Fiji water, wireless Internet and airport shuttle service. Standard guest rooms include the choice of one king or two double beds. Loft suites feature an oversized wet bar, two flat screen televisions and living room that seats eight. Cost for a three-night stay in March ranges from $317 for a standard room to $1050 for a Loft suite; rates vary with the season. The RV park provides full hookups for $66.36 for a three-night stay, including all amenities. The resort also offers ski and golf packages and features a health club, spa, the largest casino in northern Nevada, bowling center, Grand Sierra Adventures, golf driving range, video arcade, miniature golf, cinema, entertainment, live music, dancing and Ultimate Rush Thrill Park. The beach offers soft sand, pool and cabanas. Dining options include a steakhouse, Italian restaurant, seafood and raw bar, pizza, sub shop, buffet, cafe, Johnny Rockets, Starbucks and a 24-hour deli.

Plaza Resort Club

The Plaza Resort Club overlooks the Truckee River and is located by the Riverwalk and a whitewater kayak park. There is no on-site gaming at the Plaza Resort Club. Deluxe rooms feature free wireless Internet, 25-inch television with cable, microwave and refrigerator and in-room coffee. Regal rooms include a large console TV, whirlpool tub and a full kitchen. Hotel amenities include an indoor heated pool, fitness center, rooftop sundeck, whirlpool spa, billiard and game rooms, laundry and dry cleaning service, indoor valet parking, free video library and complimentary coffee and pastries each morning. As an example, room rates range from $98 to $119 per night in March. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Activities in Reno include hiking, biking, fishing, skiing and boating.
