Mexico Beach, on Florida's northwest coast, once had the third-largest port on the Gulf of Mexico. It is a resort town, 30 miles east of Panama City, that offers a serene place for collecting seashells or hunting for sunken treasure. The area is a popular destination for deep-sea fishing, sailing and snorkeling. Mexico Beach is easily accessed by Highway 98.

Rustic Sands Resort Campground

The Rustic Sands Resort Campground is on the beach. RV sites are available by the day, week or month. Off Highway 98, the park offers full electrical hookups, free wireless Internet access, cable television hookup, water and sewage. Popular recreational activities include beach activities, fishing, seashell collecting, boating, leisurely strolls and snorkeling.

El Governor

The El Governor has a campsite directly across the street from the hotel. Guests have access to the beach and hotel amenities. The park has a swimming pool and shaded pull-through and back-in spaces with full electrical, water and sewage hookups. The hotel offers wave-runner rentals, parasailing, skimboarding and surf fishing.

Indian Pass Campground

Where Apalachicola Bay flows into the Gulf of Mexico, the Indian Pass Campground offers beaches and coastal wildlife. The area has no high-rise buildings, just estuaries, fresh oysters, sunsets and fishing. In addition to RV spaces, the park offers primitive campsites and rental cabins for up to five people. The park has a modern and well-lit shower facility, an outdoor swimming pool that's open year-round, a laundry room and a mini-market on-site. Waterfront and interior sites are available. Waterfront sites go quickly, so reservations are recommended.
