Romantic Restaurants in Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Romantic Restaurants in Bucks County, Pennsylvania
Bucks County offers a plethora of outdoor activities. Tow paths alongside the Delaware River, though rocky, are great for mountain bikes. For a more peaceful activity, try canoes, rafts or inner tubes to float down the Delaware River. There are even seasonal mule-drawn barge rides with folksinger accompaniment. Only steps from these adventures are riverside restaurants and romantic bed and breakfasts. Central Bucks County offers Neshaminy Creek and Core Creek Park with a lake for fishing and trails for hiking, biking and wildlife spotting.

Honey

In a small brick building lit by candlelight, a husband and wife team of chefs combine elements of many cuisines to make an ever-changing menu. The menu might feature a pear and goat-cheese risotto cake with pomegranate seeds, Marcona almonds and a butternut-squash sauce on one day and a shrimp tempura "martini" with sour-apple and avocado salsa the next. All plates are small and meant to be ordered several at a time. Their wine list is entirely American and their beer comes only from Pennsylvania.

Marsha Brown Creole Kitchen and Lounge

Created by a Louisiana native, this restaurant is located in an old stone church complete with stained-glass windows and paintings that reach from the floor to the arched ceiling. From sautéed catfish to "Eggplant Ophelia"--a shrimp and crabmeat casserole with eggplant in a butter sauce--the Creole flavor is in every dish. The restaurant can also accommodate wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Golden Pheasant Inn

The Golden Pheasant is a bed-and-breakfast inn that offers French cuisine as well as romance packages like the "River Romance" package, that includes a stay in the cottage suite with views of the Delaware River, a private porch, four-poster king-sized bed, fireplace and Jacuzzi. The inn is 20 miles from the historic Washington Crossing and only steps from 100 miles of walking and biking trails. The Philadelphia Inquirer has called it a "cozy, classy restaurant with exceptional cuisine," such as roasted pheasant served with an apple and Calvados sauce or sautéed medallions of venison topped with currants.
