Clearwater Community Sailing Center
The Clearwater Community Sailing Center offers annual and seasonal memberships for area residents, and daily membership for visitors interested in renting one of the more than 40 boats in the fleet. Annual and seasonal members receive boat usage with their membership, while daily visitors pay a membership fee plus an hourly rental rate that varies depending on the type of rental.
Available rentals include kayaks, prams, Sunfish, a 13-foot Hobie Wave Catamaran and others. Some of the watercraft require a skills test before rental. Special packages are available that include 10-hour rentals that can be used over the course of several days.

Sand Key Park and Preserve
Sand Key Park features both a park and a separate beach area. The park section offers facilities for picnicking along the Gulf, including grills and tables. The site also has a dog park, but dogs are allowed only in the park and not on the beach. The beach recreation area features cabana rentals, bath houses with changing facilities and beach showers. Lifeguards are on duty at this beach from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily during the months of March through September.
The preserved areas of Sand Key Park feature sea turtle nesting sites and salt marshes that provide opportunities for bird watching. Native Floridian waterfowl residing in the marsh include heron, roseate spoonbill, anhinga, moorhen and great horned owl. The park opens every day of the year from 7 a.m. until sunset.

Starlite Cruises - Calypso Queen
The Calypso Queen is one of five sailing vessels operated by Starlite Cruises. The Calypso offers both afternoon and evening cruises, some offering dining options. The daily sightseeing cruises feature a narrated tour of the Florida coastline that frequently includes dolphin watching in the waters of the Intracoastal. Lunch cruises also sail the waters of Clearwater Pass. Nighttime brings both sunset cruises and party cruises that can include dinner, drinks and a DJ. Sailing times vary depending on the season, and cruise times go from 1 1/2 hours to more than 2 hours.
