For lunch, the deli offers sandwiches and sausages but also has a list of hot entrees, including a Bratwurst plate with potato salad and freshly-made sauerkraut. Another specialty item is Kassler, a smoked pork chop served with a choice of German sides. Chalet Edelweiss
With an open decor surrounding a bar and brass hearth, Chalet Edelweiss is a Swiss restaurant with a special menu of German fare located just south of Santa Monica. In addition to a stocked bar of German beers, the restaurant offers its own take on German favorites, including Rahmschnitzel with Spätzle, a German noodle platter with mushroom cream sauce and either a pork or chicken topper; and Rheinland Saft-Gulasch mit Spätzle und Rotkraut, which is a beef and pork stew, made in red wine and poured over Spätzle. The restaurant also offers a fondue menu with both Swiss and German cheeses.
