Cottages in Ogunquit, Maine

Cottages in Ogunquit, Maine
Meaning "beautiful place by the sea," in the language of the Algonquin Indians, Ogunquit, Maine, is a small resort town 65 miles north of Boston. Marginal Way, a cliff-side walk along the shoreline, and the Mount Agamenticus Trail, which is more than 700 feet above sea level, attract outdoor enthusiasts and tourists alike. Marginal Way is an easy walk for all ages and has a paved trail with benches and lookouts as well as a 180-degree ocean view. Coastal Maine is famous for having little cottages and cabins along the shoreline for tourists to rent, rather than just standard motel and hotel accommodations.

The Dunes on the Waterfront

Located just 300 yards from Ogunquit Beach, and directly on the Ogunquit Tidal River, The Dunes on the Waterfront cottages offer visitors a piece of New England. Quaint, white clapboard cottages have green shutters and hardwood floors with braided rugs. There are cottages with 1 and 2 bedrooms, each with a full kitchen and fireplace. Most of the 1 bedroom cottages, however, are not detached and are a part of a larger cottage structure. Each cottage comes with TV, refrigerator, phones with dataports, coffeemakers and coffee and wireless Internet. Cottages with a fireplace receive complimentary wood. The Dunes is close to many Ogunquit attractions including Perkins Cove, which has a variety of art galleries, shops, restaurants and boutiques.

Ogunquit Cottages

The Ogunquit Cottages are a little different from a standard cottage rental. These aren't little cottages in a common resort area, but rather small homes, remodeled and rented out weekly in the summer and monthly in the winter. Each of the cottages offers its own unique style and is part of the neighborhood in which it sits. If you believe that the only way to experience a place is to live there, even for a week, these cottages will give you that feeling. These are also great cottages for those looking to stay in and explore occasionally, rather than go out and about all the time. Each cottage comes fully furnished and provides: cable TV, DVD players, a stereo and a washer and dryer in the cottage. Different cottages feature fireplaces, large yards, decks, enclosed porches and walking distance to the beach or town.
