Rosendal is a small town in Norway's Hordaland region, about 2-1/2 hours by car from Bergen. It is often referred to as the gateway to the Hardangerfjord, which is perhaps the most famous fjord in Norway. Baroniet Rosendal Bed & Breakfast

Among other attractions, Rosendal is home to Norway's only Barony, which dates to the 1600s. In addition to the small castle, visitors also have the opportunity to stay overnight on the property's bed and breakfast, located in a former farmhouse. The guest rooms have simple furnishings, and most of them require the use of shared bathrooms, although there are washing facilities in every room. Guests can choose to take their meals at the Home Farm kitchen or in the Blue Dining Room at the nearby Manor.

Rosendal Motel

Boasting a central location that puts most of Rosendal's attractions within walking distance, the Rosendal Motel is a recently renovated property that lends itself well to singles, small groups and families exploring the area. Situated on the premises of the local newspaper's former headquarters, the Rosendal Motel is surrounded by mountains and hiking trails. It is a small hotel, with only 10 rooms, and limited facilities, but is a fine choice for travelers on a budget. Guests staying here are entitled to use the service facilities at the Rosendal Fjordhotel, which is two minutes away by foot. Note that there are no meals available at the Rosendal Motel.
