Lebanese Restaurants on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Washington

Lebanese Restaurants on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Washington
Set on the east side of Seattle's funky Capitol Hill neighborhood, there is a Lebanese community that swarms with some of the city's hippest people. In the early 1990s, Capitol Hill emerged as the center of the grunge scene with musicians and artists arriving from all over the country to absorb the ambiance. Today musicians still frequent the street corners while cafes and stores pump out their tunes as well.

Karam's Lebanese Cuisine

Noted for its homemade garlic tahini sauce, Karam's offers a full menu of Lebanese cuisine. Appetizers include charbroiled eggplant with fresh garlic and lemon juice (baba ghannouj) and a cream cheese dish made of goat's milk, garlic and peppermint (karamage) served with pita bread. Lamb kebabs (lahm mashwi) and charbroiled fish (samak mashwi) start off the list of entrees. Sometimes belly dancers hit the floor, adding to the atmosphere.
