Kids' Restaurants in Minneapolis

Kids' Restaurants in Minneapolis
According to Katherine Hamilton, a Minneapolis resident for almost 20 years, there isn't a better place in the U.S. to find a variety of good, healthy and delicious restaurant choices. With five nieces and nephews that come to visit regularly, Katherine has found that kid-friendly choices are also readily accessible. In fact, she says that most restaurants in Minneapolis are actually quite kid-friendly. In a large metropolitan area, kid-friendly means more than just a kids' menu; it means a combination of good prices, good food and good service.

The Egg And I

If you are looking for a traditional breakfast location to take the kids, The Little Egg, which is what the The Egg & I restaurant is called in Minneapolis, is a good choice. As you can imagine, they serve a wide variety of eggs, pancakes and waffles, skillet breakfasts and continental breakfast. They are also open through lunch, serving sandwiches and burgers. Their "10 Minute Specials" include sandwich, soup and salad combos. The Egg & I does have a Junior Menu with smaller portions, but kids can easily find many options from the main menu.

Sovereign Grounds

Sovereign Grounds is just what it advertises to be: an indoor playground and coffee house. It is a very relaxing setting for the adults, but it also has a playground inside for the kids. Sovereign Grounds of course serves coffee and tea, but it also serves homemade bakery items, deli sandwiches and spinach pie.

Chatterbox Pub

The Chatterbox Pub has a fun, retro atmosphere that appeals to kids and their parents. In addition to typical pub-type food, the Chatterbox offers a decent Sunday Brunch with selections such as buttermilk biscuits and gravy, cinnamon French toast, hash browns, bacon and sausage. The kids menu includes options that you would expect such as pizza, chicken strips, grilled cheese and mac and cheese. What really makes this pub stand out is its wide selection of board games and video games.
