Pine Mountain, Georgia, is a small town in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The region offers plenty of fishing, hiking and mountain biking. It's also home to world-class golf at Callaway Gardens. With a breathtaking natural setting, the Callaway Gardens golf course challenges players of all skill levels. The gardens offer something for every season, but many guests say spring, with the profusion of azaleas, is the best time to go.

Pine Mountain Cabins

The Pine Mountain Cabins are made for romance. Each rustic cabin has a heart-shaped whirlpool tub. The cabin community boasts a pool, tennis courts and fishing. The cabins are either one or two bedrooms, with queen beds and cable TV. There is also one cabin with three bedrooms. Although there is no Internet access in the cabins, guests are welcome to use the free high-speed Internet in the office. Cook a simple dinner in your cabin's kitchen, or try Cricket's Restaurant for New Orleans cuisine. Dinner choices include seafood gumbo, red beans and rice, crawfish ettouffe and jambalaya.

Homestead Log Cabins

At the Homestead Log Cabins, you'll find log house accommodations with full kitchens, whirlpool tubs and fireplaces. Pets are welcome in most of the cabins. Guests receive discounts for nearby Butts Mill Farm, a family-friendly park, with attractions such as horse riding, go-karts and a bungee trampoline. Cool off at Callaway Gardens' Robin Lake Beach. Then, enjoy a snack at the Robin Lake Beach Pavilion, with an ice cream dessert at the Fine Cone.

Pine Mountain Club Chalets Resort

The Pine Mountain Club Chalets Resort is on 65 acres. Guests are welcome to fish or boat on the 12-acre lake, or enjoy the tennis courts or swimming pool. Enjoy the great outdoors when hiking the resort's nature trails. Each cabin has a deck and grill, and have from one bedroom to eight. Enjoy a step back in time at Franklin Roosevelt's Little White House in nearby Warm Springs. A victim of polio, the World War II president enjoyed the healing waters of Warm Springs. Roosevelt was staying at the Little White House when he died in 1945. After touring the Little White House, shop at the Warm Springs Antique Mall. For a fun meal, head to the nearby Callaway Gardens Country Store at the base of Pine Mountain. The Country Kitchen, located at the back of the store, offers Southern country cooking.
