Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace

Visitors can learn all about Girl Scouts' founder, Juliette Gordon Low; take a tour of her childhood home, view family artifacts, and enjoy fun programs that highlight the achievements and lasting legacy of this important historical figure. Completed in 1821, this classic "Savannah Box" home is furnished with family antiques and period art, offering visitors a look into the lives of the Low family and Savannah's other upper-class families during the nineteenth century.

Roundhouse Railroad Museum

Savannah's historic Roundhouse Railroad Museum offers visitors a look at how the Central Georgia Railway and the railroading industry affected Georgia and the South. Visitors can experience the railroading history of Savannah through several exhibits, historic railroad buildings and antique trains. Kids will especially enjoy the museum's model train display and steam engine exhibits. Open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.

Tybee Island Marine Science Center

Enjoy a beach walk, a marsh trek or a turtle talk and learn about the unique habitats and animals found on Tybee Island and in the waters surrounding the island. The marine center's Coastal Georgia Gallery lets visitors get an up-close look at endangered loggerhead sea turtles and diamond back terrapins, and learn more about how to preserve these amazing animals. Open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.

Tybee Island Light Station & Museum

Built at the head of the Savannah River in 1732, the Tybee Island Light Station is a historic lighthouse that features original construction, 178 stairs and an authentic Fresnel lens. The completely restored lighthouse is open to visitors and offers a look into the history of the island and the lives of those who lived and worked on the island. Visitors can take a self-guided tour the light station from 9 am to 5:30 pm daily, except Tuesday. After-hours tours are available by appointment.
