Plains, Georgia is the birthplace and hometown of the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter. A small town with a population of under 1,000 people, Plains is close to the Koinonia Farm, a Christian Farm Intentional Community founded in 1942. Koinonia is also the founding organization of Habitat for Humanity, a charity that builds home for the underprivileged. Plains is also near the Andersonville National Historic Site, also known as Camp Sumter, it was the largest prison for confederate soldiers during the American Civil War. Plains has dedicated itself to welcoming the antique lover and, with the help of the Carters, has created a large antique mall and inn as well as an antique auction that attracts people from miles around.

The 1906 Pathway Inn

The 1906 Pathway Inn is located in Americus, Georgia and is just nine miles from Plains.
