With more than 18,000 acres of water, Mark Twain Lake, Missouri is northern Missouri's largest lake. There are many public access points, including trails, campsites and boat ramps, along the lake shore as well as many resorts and motels that offer recreational activities. Water activities from boating and swimming to water skiing and fishing are among the most popular. The area is also popular with hunters in the fall. In addition to its many recreational and conservation benefits, the lake provides electric power via a hydroelectric dam during peak demand periods.

South Fork Resort

Offering cabins, kitchenette rooms and standard motel rooms, the South Fork Resort provides an economical family vacation. With a swimming pool, small playground, kids fishing pond and general store, there is plenty to keep the kids occupied. Barbecue areas, fish cleaning areas, boat hookups and picnic areas are avaiable. Rooms are clean and basically furnished with air conditioning and TV. Kitchenette rooms also have a full-size refrigerator, cook top, coffeemaker and plates and utensils. Cabins have full kitchens, living areas and sleep up to 8 or 10.

Lake Village

Lake Village is a full-service vacation community providing not only a motel, but cabins, RV hook-ups, a restaurant, campsites and a manufactured home community. Motel rooms are clean and economically furnished and offer air conditioning, TV and queen-sized bed. All guests are welcome to access the laundry facilities, meeting room, truck and boat parking and hook-ups and the fishing and fish cleaning station.

The Country Inn Motel is located along the banks of Mark Twain Lake. Clean and brightly furnished, the Country Inn offers standard rooms with air conditioning and satellite TV as well as kitchenette rooms with full-size refrigerators, all cooking and eating utensils, coffeemaker and toaster. The motel also offers an outdoor pool, kids fishing pond, volleyball and horseshoe pits, picnic pavilion and charcoal grill as well as a fish cleaning station.
