Surrounded by mountains and glaciers and teeming with wildlife, Homer, Alaska is a paradise waiting to be visited. Overlooking the Kachemak Bay, Homer offers all the amenities of a larger city with a relatively mild climate. Homer is a hotbed of wildlife viewing and is a great place for outdoor Alaskan fun, including hiking, kayaking trips and glaciers skiing, to name a few. Dandy Cabins of Homer

Conveniently located near the Homer airport, Dandy Cabins of Homer is a small group of five cabins that are rented either daily or weekly. The cabins feature a full bath and kitchenette, a gas oven, a microwave and local TV and phone service. This Alaskan cabin is also close to the famed Homer Spit, a narrow piece of land that juts into the Kachemak Bay and is home to 700 commercial boat operators. Head over to the Spit and enjoy a day of kayaking on the bay, where you'll paddle past coves, oyster farms, seals and otters.

Goofy Moose Log Cabins

Located at the base of the hill when you enter Homer, Goofy Moose Log Cabins offer incredible views of the local mountains and Kachemak Bay. The cabins are made from Alaskan spruce and set upon an acre of land and feature satellite TV, fully equipped kitchens, towels, linens and a welcome pack containing coffee, tea and sugar. At stay at Goofy Moose put you in close proximity to Kachemak Bay State Park, where you can hike trails that lead to glaciers and secluded, private campsites. The trails here are around the Halibut Cove and Halibut Cove Lagoon.

Alaska Moosehorn Cabin

Alaska Moosehorn Cabin is bursting with outdoor adventure and small-town charm. The cabins here are equipped with the standard essentials of an oven, a refrigerator, a shower, a gas grill and cable TV. A private deck gives you an awesome view of the mountains that surround Homer. One of the best things to do in Homer is whale watching. The Alaska Kayak School operates out of Homer and from its tour, you will have the chance to see humpback, orca and blue whales, and even the rare minke and fin have been sighted here as well.
