Café Juanita is an award-winning Northern Italian restaurant profiled in magazines such as Sunset, Gourmet and Seattle Magazine, and chef-owner Holly Smith has appeared on the Food Network. Reservations are recommended at Café Juanita, and the menu changes frequently, according to the restaurant's website, but the fall 2009 menu features dishes such as Butternut Squash Risotto, Oregon Lamb Caramelle, Artisan Polenta with Mascarpone, and Blackmore Wagyu Flat Iron with Cipollini Agro Dolce and Gorgonzola Piccante. Lucia

Lucia is open for lunch starting at 11:00 a.m. on weekdays and options include an express lunch with penne pasta and a selection of sauces, entrees, sandwiches or small pizzas priced from $8 to $14 in 2010. Dinner service lasts until 10:00 p.m. on weeknights and Sundays, and 11:00 p.m. on weekends. Appetizers such as crab cakes and calamari, salads such as poached pear and blackened salmon, pasta, entrees such as lemon chicken fettucine and spinach lasagna, pizza, and calzones are available on the dinner menu, with prices ranging from $6 to $26, as of 2010. Calabrisella Ristorante Italiano

Calabrisella Ristorante Italiano offers "the best happy hour in downtown Kirkland with half-priced lasagna and fresh fruit cocktails," according to the restaurant's website. Calabrisella features a cocktail lounge, seasonal outdoor seating, banquet rooms, and live entertainment and is open daily from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., staying open until midnight on weekends.
