RV Parks Near Mission Bay, California
Perhaps explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo was annoyed when he pinned the name "False Bay" on San Diego's Mission Bay. Once tidal floodplains, the shallow waterway is a haven for modern recreation travelers, SCUBA divers, kayakers and swimmers. Protected from the bigger waves of the Pacific Ocean, the bay has small and gentle waves suitable for swimming and small watercraft. By contrast, the Pacific Ocean is just a few steps away from most Mission Bay Resorts and offers a pounding surf, endless beaches and beautiful sunsets.

Mission Bay RV Resort‎

San Diego's Mission Bay RV Resort is located on a strip of land that runs right in between the protected waters of Mission Bay and the thundering waves of the Pacific Ocean. It offers 259 back-in sites for 1995 and newer RVs (as of January 2010). Each site is paved and level and has full hookups with up to 50 amps of electricity, cable television, water and sewage. Throughout the park, wireless Internet access is available at no extra charge. On the Mission Bay side of the park, there is a boat launch ramp with a boat washing station, a small pier for fishing and access to a bicycle trail that loops along the beach for miles. The park has hot showers and a guest laundry facility. Guests are issued key cards for gate entrance, and 24-hour security guards patrol the park 7 days a week.
