The Barking Crab
Skip across the Fort Point Channel and you will find a more festive, blue-collar dining experience at the Barking Crab. With a bold sign that announces "The Barking Crab" atop an orange and yellow canvas top, it looks a little like the circus came to town. The casual atmosphere makes it an ideal place to eat while admiring the skyscrapers of Boston. Started as a summer restaurant in 1994, it has expanded to a year-round operation. Still, the best time to grab crab cakes here is during the summer when you can sit outside and not only enjoy the view but feel the wind and hear the waves brushing up against the ships that cruise through the water.
