North Lake Tahoe Pet-Friendly Hotels

North Lake Tahoe Pet-Friendly Hotels
Olympic level skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating, vertical drops and winding trails---winter in Lake Tahoe is a ski lover's dream. In the summer, Lake Tahoe is equally ideal for nature lovers---hiking the sun-drenched Sierra Mountains, windsurfing on the northern lake, river rafting and exploring the area biking trails create an ideal outdoor vacation. If you bring your dog or pet along on the trip, you'll find some North Lake Tahoe hotels and cabin lodges that welcome pets.

Knights Inn Cedar Glen Lodge Lake Tahoe

With private lake access, a large heated swimming pool, spa and sauna, and north lake views, the Knights Inn Cedar Glen Lodge offers cabins and suites decorated with pine furniture, and four exclusively pet-friendly rooms. The hotel offers daily housekeeping and free wireless Internet in the guest lounge. The Knights Inn is close to facilities for power boating, water skiing, fishing, tennis, plus skiing and snowboarding in the Sierra Nevada mountains. When making an online reservation, the hotel requires that guests bringing dogs type the following note in the "Comments to be sent to hotel" section on the Knights Inn reservation form: "I am bringing my dog." This allows the hotel to prepare for you and your pet. In 2010, the pet fee is $30 each night.

Holiday House

The Holiday House, located on the northern shore of Lake Tahoe, is pet-friendly, allowing guests to bring pets for a per-pet fee for three nights, then an additional fee for each night beyond three. But dogs stay free! The six lakefront suites at the Holiday House overlook Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountain range. All suites at the Holiday House are simply decorated and have a sunning deck and a fully equipped kitchen. For larger families or groups, a two-bedroom and two-bathroom unit with a full kitchen is also available. The Holiday House is on a ski-shuttle route and offers discounted ski passes to Squaw Valley, Northstar and Alpine Meadows. From July through September, summer guests can rent windsurfing boards and stand-up paddleboards through the hotel. Dogs should never be left alone in the rooms, and when outdoors, guests should keep their dogs them on a leash.
