Medieval restaurants allow you to step back in time, passing through the castle gates into a world of jousting, knights on horseback and damsels in distress. Large portions of roasted meat and hearty soups are passed out by serving wenches clad in medieval attire while esteemed restaurant patrons watch and take part in a medieval tournament in the center of the castle.

Although Houston has many excellent restaurants and entertainment venues, it does not have a Medieval restaurant. But, with a few hours drive or at the right time of year, diners can still access medieval food from Houston.

The Texas Renaissance Festival

The Texas Renaissance festival is a yearly festival that runs every Saturday and Sunday from early October through late November. The festival is in Plantersville, Texas, one hour northwest of Houston, and features Renaissance music, food, fun and games for the whole family.
