Kamiah, Idaho sits on the banks of the Clearwater River. The area offers hiking, rafting, fishing, wildlife, picnicking, rock hounding and prospecting. Sixty miles from town there's skiing, snowmobiling and snowboarding. The Lewis and Clark Highway runs beside Kamiah and is the longest expanse of highway within a national forest in the United States. Visitors can catch glimpses of mountain goats, deer and elk. When it's time to wind down, there are a number of motels in the Kamiah area.

Clearwater 12 Motel

The Clearwater 12 Motel offers a hot complimentary breakfast and plenty of oversized truck parking. They have two suites that have 32-inch flat-screen televisions, king beds, queen-size sleepers and full kitchens. Each kitchen has a microwave, refrigerator, stove, cooking utensils, toaster and coffee pot. Guest rooms offer a six-inch flat-screen television, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, blow dryer and iron with ironing board. The hotel is located within walking distance to Kamiah Riverfront Park, where guests can stroll, picnic and fish.

Hearthstone Lodge

The Hearthstone Lodge sits on 29 acres overlooking the Clearwater River. Rooms include whirlpool tubs, balconies with a view, cathedral ceilings, fireplaces, embroidered guest robes and canopied beds with antique headboards. Breakfast is served each morning. The Kooskia Fish Hatchery is located eight miles from the lodge. Guests can stroll the fish ponds and learn about fish propagation.

Idaho Sportsman Lodge

Idaho Sportsman Lodge is located on the south fork of the Clearwater River in the town of Stites, which sits 11 miles from downtown Kamiah. They offer four units for rent nightly or weekly. Each unit is over 800 square feet and features local artwork, Wi-Fi, satellite television, handmade furniture, two bedrooms and full kitchens. Visitors can enjoy rafting, kayaking, and hiking along the Clearwater River.

The Super 8 Motel is located 33 miles from downtown Kamiah. The hotel offers rooms with microwaves, refrigerators and cable television. The hotel is located 45 miles from Seven Devils and Hells Canyon Recreation Area, where guests can hike, fish, raft, kayak, watch wildlife, rock hound and picnic.
