Waterfront Restaurants in Alexandria, Virginia

Waterfront Restaurants in Alexandria, Virginia
Alexandria is one of Virginia's oldest cities. Its eastern edge, lying along the Potomac River and known as Old Town, is famous for its cobblestone streets, colonial architecture and high-end boutiques. Old Town is also home to a lengthy strip of the Mount Vernon Trail. Luckily for hungry cyclists, runners and nature enthusiasts, Old Town's waterfront boasts a variety of tasty eateries minutes from the trail.

Bastille

This contemporary French restaurant is just a few years old but has already garnered awards from Wine Spectator Magazine and The Washingtonian, among others. The menu is seasonal and the food local, when possible. Dine in casual elegance indoors and out. The restaurant is situated a short walk up the trail from the Alexandria Boat House. Red Curry

Red Curry's pan-Asian concept is like one-stop shopping: looking for Thai satay, Laotian steak, Chinese beef and broccoli or Malaysian coconut curry? Find them all here. The recently opened full sushi bar also is popular. It has waterfront views from the upper level, and outdoor dining is available. It is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner; takeout service is offered. Prices are inexpensive to moderate.
