A small city in New Jersey, Union City is a flourishing community renowned for its shopping, work opportunities, school system, performing arts centers and parks. The numerous recreational facilities that are a great place for residents and guests to enjoy indoor swimming pools, sports (basketball, football, and baseball), hiking through park grounds, as well as camping excursions. Beyti Kebab Restaurant

Established in 1984, Beyti Kebab Restaurant specializes in Turkish fare and is the first Turkish eatery to open in the New York metro area. Open every day for lunch and dinner, the menu at Beyti features lentil soup, shepherd salad, bulghur salad, and lamb chops, eggplant dishes (smoked or fried), and various spreads and dips (hummus, vegetable and yogurt dip). There are also numerous main course options including various types of kebab platters (veal, lamb, and chicken) as well as those that come with yogurt. Guests can also enjoy desserts and various beverages at Beyti, but they have to bring their own alcoholic beverages. Additionally, Beyti is host to numerous events such as dancing and live music on Saturday, as well as private events and catered affairs. There is also an on-site bakery if guests seek a quick purchase such as a pastry or Turkish coffee.

Los Charritos

Specializing in authentic Mexican fare, Los Charritos has a few locations in New Jersey, including a Union City branch that is open for lunch and dinner. Some items on the menu include nachos and guacamole, various types of tacos and fajitas, and quesadillas of shrimp, chicken, steak, and bacon and mushroom, which all come with refried beans and sour cream. There are also specialty dishes of mole poblano (chicken breast with mole sauce and rice), sabor actez (lobster tails with rice and beans), los chilaquiles (corn tortillas with chicken, steak or shrimp), various seafood platters, and sides of refried beans, chips and salsa, cactus salad and flour tortillas. Guests can also enjoy numerous beverages with their meal at Los Charritos, such as margaritas, sangria, beer and soft drinks.

Mi Bandera

Featuring Cuban fare, Mi Bandera is a casual eatery where guests can dine-in or eat out and even order online. Menu options include appetizers of calamari, shrimp cocktail, fried plantain, various soups and salads, and side dishes of rice and beans, sweet potatoes and white rice. For a main course, diners can try chicken dishes, seafood platters (salmon, snapper, or shrimp), boliche (pot roast), ropa vieja (shredded beef), or rabo encendido (oxtail), all of which come with a side plate. There are also numerous grilled specialities at Charritos, such as sirloin steak, skirt steak, T-bone steak, and Colombian beef with green plantains. The restaurant also has a separate wine list, kids' menu and a menu for those with dietary restrictions.
