Collin County's Anna, Texas is about 30 miles north of Dallas on U.S. 75 and was settled in 1883. While there are no lakes or recreation areas in Anna, it is conveniently located less than 10 miles from Ray Roberts Lake State Park, Lake Dallas, Lavon Lake, Lake Towakoni, Lake Texoma, Pat Mayse Lake and Hugo Lake State Park. Anna is a lower-priced place to stay that allows visitors to explore more than one recreational area from a convenient central home base.

Eisenhower State Park

The 423-acre Eisenhower State Park in Northeast Texas, just 8 miles from Anna, is located on the coast of Lake Texoma. Pull-through sites are available for RVs and include electricity, water and sewage. A recreation hall is also available, and there are screened picnic shelters, a dump station, a fish-cleaning station and a boat launch ramp and courtesy dock, plus a lighted fishing pier. The park has 4.5 miles of hiking and bicycling trails, plus a half-mile nature trail (foot traffic only) with interpretive signage.

Ardmore RV Park

The Ardmore RV Park is located just off of I35, halfway between Dallas and Oklahoma City. This 16-acre park is just seven minutes from Lake Murray, known for crystal clear water for scuba diving, boating and water sports, while the surrounding area has nature trails and golf courses in the foothills of the Arbuckle Mountains. Giant pecan and oak trees provide a shady respite from the scorching Texas sun, and owner Dewain Duck claims that they muffle the highway sounds, surprising many guests with the feeling of being in a wooded forest. Each site is a pull-through and provides 30- and 50-amp power, plus water and sewage service. Cable television, shared bathrooms, showers, a laundry facility and wireless Internet are also provided. The park is surrounded by 10 acres of wilderness where guests can ride their own ATVs or hike along Hickory Creek at the far end of the property. A nightly campfire brings guests together for campfire songs and s'mores.

Alvin Lafon's RV Park

Lafon's RV Park is located at the north end of Lake Lavon in Princeton, just 10 minutes from the boat ramps and shopping centers including the famed McKinney Square Antique Mall. The Leatherwood Ranch Golf Course and the Heritage Ranch Golf Course are both within 15 minutes There are 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups on large spaces that are 72 feet deep and 32 feet wide. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available. An on-site laundromat and free wireless Internet access are available for guests.
