RV Clubs in North Carolina

RV Clubs in North Carolina
North Carolina, also known as The Tar Heel state, is full of natural wonders. From the Blue Ridge Mountains and forests in the west, to the rolling hills of The Piedmont and the Outer Banks in the east, the state offers an abundance of natural sights and activities for the outdoors lover. And if you like to take to the open road, for some there's no better mode of transportation than an RV. If you prefer to travel or camp in groups, North Carolina has a handful of RV clubs you can join for a nominal cost.

The Travelin' Tarheels

This group is a member of the Family Motor Coach Association and about 70 families belong to The Travelin' Tarheels, as of 2009. The group generally holds five rallies, or gatherings, a year, and charges minimal annual membership dues. The rallies are held at a campground, and the members share meals, stories and entertain one another. As the majority of the members live in North Carolina, the Tarheel state hosts most of the rallies. There are, however, a few members from outside the state. The group has been operating since 1991. Prospective members must be a member of the FMCA (see Resources for link).

Coastal Tarheels

The Coastal Tarheels is also a member of the FMCA, and this RV club counts 75 families as members. The majority of the group's rallies, which are conducted the first full weekend of the month, beginning on Fri The annual dues for Coastal Tarheelday, are at campgrounds in North Carolina. The group does, occasionally, gather outside the state, such as in Florida. Members must also belong to the FMCA and pay its dues in addition to the dues for the Coastal Tarheels.

Carolina Ramblers

The Ramblers received its charter from FMCA in 2003 and is open to anyone living within 150 miles of High Point, North Carolina. As of 2009, about 30 families were members of the Ramblers. The group holds 10 to 12 rallies a year, at campgrounds and RV resorts in North Carolina and nearby states; new members are welcomed. Annual dues are minimal, and Ramblers members must also belong to the FMCA. The Ramblers even has its very own song, and there are group T-shirts available for purchase, as well (see link in References).
