RV Resorts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina

RV Resorts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Two of the most popular hiking spots in North Carolina are just north of Winston-Salem--Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock, each of which has almost 20 miles of trails. The city of Winston-Salem also has much to offer. Old Salem, an 18th-century Moravian settlement, has lovely gardens, museums and a bakery that sells Moravian sugar cookies. If you're planning a trip to Winston-Salem in your RV, there are several resorts nearby, though none are in the city itself.

Lake Myers RV Resort

The Lake Myers RV Resort sits about 25 miles southwest of Winston-Salem, just off Interstate-40. Rates range from $35 to $56 per site, with off-season rates for 2009-10 as low as $20, according to the resort's website as of December 2009. The amenities list is long, so there are activities for just about anybody. Guests can fish, canoe, and paddleboat in the lake, swim in two Olympic-size pools or play some miniature golf. Cable TV is available at all sites. The chances of finding a vacant site are good, since the resort has over 400 RV sites, as well as tent pads and cabins. From March through October, the resort schedules special activities such as animal lover's weekends, chocolate lover's weekends and luau weekends.
