Yakima is located approximately 142 miles southeast of Seattle and offers convenient access to White Pass and Chinook Pass for mountain recreation such as skiing, hiking, wildlife viewing or hunting. Yakima Canyon is a state scenic route leading to the Yakima River, a recreational magnet for fly-fishing enthusiasts and slow river floating on an 11-mile route. White water rafting also is available on the Tieton River when the dam releases each fall.

Best Western Ahtanum Inn

The Best Western Ahtanum offers 118 guest rooms on two floors, 14 of which are suites. All rooms include Internet access, a refrigerator, microwave and complimentary breakfast each morning. Standard rooms feature two queen-size beds, while deluxe suites offer a king-size bed, sofa bed, fully-equipped kitchen and whirlpool tub. Hotel amenities include a fitness center, heated outdoor swimming pool and complimentary airport shuttle. The Yakima Greenway, an 11-mile paved walkway along the Yakima River, is located a mile from the Best Western Ahtanum and many dining options are nearby, including an Outback Steakhouse which is next to the hotel. Small dogs are allowed with a daily fee, and children under age 13 stay free with an adult. Nightly rates start at $89 in 2010.

Cedars Suites at Yakima Convention Center

Cedars Suites at Yakima Convention Center offers 50 one or two bed mini suites with complimentary wireless access, microwaves, refrigerators, work areas, breakfast served each morning and homemade cookies served each evening. Small pets are allowed with an additional fee, and rates in 2010 start at $49 per night. Cedars Suites is located near Kiwanis Park, Yakima Sportsmen State Park and several restaurants are available within a five-block radius.

Quality Inn Yakima

Located near the Yakima airport, the Quality Inn offers 85 guest rooms with free wireless access, a seasonal outdoor pool and a hot breakfast buffet is served each morning. Other hotel amenities include a business center with computer access, truck and RV parking, and guest laundry. The Yakima Greenway walking trail is accessible within a mile of the Quality Inn, and several restaurants including teriyaki and steakhouses are located within walking distance. Sixteen wineries also are located within a 35-mile radius of the hotel, with tasting hours regularly scheduled. 2010 rates start at $79 per night for one queen-size or king-size bed and dogs less than 15 pounds are allowed for an additional fee.
