Attractions in Northeast Georgia
At the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains is the rugged and forested region of northeast Georgia. With dozens of campgrounds, trails and small-town shopping districts, families and couples will have plenty of activities and attractions to fill their time during a visit. The area boasts campsites, cabins and numerous amenity-filled hotels.

Tallulah Gorge State Park

Just off U.S. Highway 441 sits the 2,700 acre site of Tallulah Gorge State Park. At the park, visitors can hike or bike more than 20 miles of trails or swim and fish in the many rivers and lakes. Nonathletic visitors can enjoy scenic views of the north Georgia mountains, gorge overlooks and water releases throughout the year. Guests also can stay in one of the 50 campsites while enjoying a lake and beach, a picnic shelter and recreation areas.

Unicoi Springs Camp Resort ‎

Situated near the heart of Helen, Georgia, an authenticated German town, is Unicoi Springs Camp Resort. The camp features tent and RV sites with electric and water hookups, a lake, swimming pools, picnic sites and recreation facilities for families. Modern amenities include paved roads, an activity center, cable TV hookup, miniature golf and wireless and dial-up Internet capabilities. Several other falls, trails and campsites are also nearby in Helen and surrounding cities.

Chateau Elan

The 3,500 acre Chateau Elan offers a golf club and two 18-hole golf courses and 75 acres of vineyards and a winery, as well as a European health spa treatment given with special overnight accommodations at the inn, which has access to a fitness center and swimming pool. Chateau Elan is also home to several restaurants, a culinary studio and a golf school. The resort also offers meeting rooms and wedding facilities.

Babyland General Hospital

Babyland General Hospital, home of the Cabbage Patch Kids baby dolls, is an attraction for children, where they can pick out their own doll and witness it being born. At the hospital, families can adopt preemies, newborn babies and older kids and give them names of their choice. The hospital also has original Cabbage Patch Kids, which can be dressed for special holidays and occasions, along with accessories and adoption records.
