Cozy and romantic, Spennato's serves up authentic Italian flavors and your choice of a dozen different varieties of pasta. They also have a good wine list, featuring some from Australia, California, and even Italy, as well as some from the local favorite vineyards. With most entrees in the $10 to $15 range, and a kid's menu, this is a great place to have a nice meal without breaking the bank. Pizza and calzones are available with a wide range of unique toppings, including artichokes, pineapple, roasted red peppers, and hot peppers, as well as more standard pizza complements.

Giuseppe's Ristorante
Giuseppe's has been open since 2003, and has quietly built a very loyal clientele in the Northfield area-- no small feat considering the number of quality restaurants in the area. Owners Giuseppe and Rosaria Ripa are natives of Naples, Italy, and have been in the restaurant business since their time in Naples. The quaint little restaurant in a strip shopping center in Northfield is very unassuming, and in fact, if you are not looking for it, you'll pass it right up. Inside, however, the lighting is dim and romantic, with candle lighting and Italian music. The food is made from the freshest vegetables and herbs for a light, but delicious take on traditional favorites. With most entrees in the $15 to $30 range, this is a good place for an intimate dinner for two.

Casa D'Angelo
Just a mile or two from the border of Northfield, Casa D'Angelo sits unassumingly in a strip plaza in Macedonia. One in a line of family restaurants that is scattered about the country from St. Louis to Indiana to Ohio, owned by three different branches of the tree, they all use their Grandma D'Angelo's recipes and are thriving! The Macedonia restaurant has been open since 1994, with many family members, and a good many long-time employees serving customers. The food is exceptional and homemade, and the portions are big enough to take home for tomorrow's lunch. A good wine list, excellent service, and the new espresso bar make this a place to return to time and again, whatever the occasion. Entrees are in the $10- $18 range in 2009, and wine by the glass is reasonable as well.
