Hotels in Long Lake, New York
Long Lake is actually a widened area of the Raquette River located in the central Adirondacks. The town of Long Lake sits on the east side of the lake and is entirely within Adirondack Park. Although the area is quiet and somewhat desolate in the winter, the summer months are filled with fishing, hiking, boating, and many other outdoor activities. Day trips from the Long Lake area can take you to Tupper lake, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, which was the site of the 1980 Winter Olympics. The Adirondack Trail passes through the area and covers more than 180 miles of awe-inspiring scenery.

The Adirondack Hotel

Built at the turn of the last century, the rustic and historic Adirondack Hotel offers a panoramic view of the lake's 14 miles and surrounding mountains. This hotel is perfect for guests looking for a peaceful escape from busy lifestyles. The non-smoking rooms are small and have few amenities (none have TV or AC), but there is wireless Internet. Some units have share bathrooms others offer private commodes. Although families are welcome, hotel policy requires that children be well-behaved and accompanied by adults at all times. If you're planning a family vacation, this might not be the place for you.
