Joe's Crab Shack

Quirky, fun, and laid-back, all describe Joe's Crab Shack, located across from the Indianapolis Racquet Club. From the wooden porch at the entrance to the tiles on the restroom walls, Joe's Crab Shack is designed to provide the ambiance of an old, beached ship.

Diners receive everything needed to enjoy a variety of deep-sea crab that has been baked, boiled, or broiled: tools to crack the crab and dig out the meat; a bib to catch the juicy drips and buttery sauces; and a tin bucket to collect the empty shells. Although crab is the main attraction, Joe's Crab Shack offers steaks, burgers, salads and other dishes, as well. In addition to the usual requirements of the waitstaff, Joe's employees have to be ready to dance the Macarena at any time.

Sangiovese Ristorante

The Sangiovese Ristorante sits amid the busy 82nd Street traffic, yet provides a quiet, romantic atmosphere inside. The outdoor dining area in the back overlooks the White River, making for a peaceful evening out. The authentic Italian cuisine is best known for its distinguished variety of flavors, as staple favorites include crab cakes and artichokes. In addition to the Sangiovese wine, Sangiovese Ristorante serves a variety of other wines and cocktails as well. This classy restaurant hosts live jazz performances at the baby grand piano. Romance is inspired by the sleek bar and pre-dinner cocktails, and further encouraged by the cozy fireplace and intimate booth seating.
