Gatto's
A local favorite, Gatto's Restaurant and Bar is everything a person needs from an Italian restaurant. The menu is large, and diners always get what they pay for. Portions are hefty, but the bill usually is not. Whether taking the whole family or having a dinner date, Gatto's doesn't disappoint fans of Italian cuisine. It is recommended to make reservations during the weekend. Just a few miles east of Gatto's is Yankee Woods in the Cook County Forest Preserve.

Aurelio's
Aurelio's is known for having some of the best thin crust pizza in the state. Kids love the sweet tomato sauce on pizzas at this family-friendly restaurant. If there are four people or more in a party, it is a good idea to order a fiesta size. Diners should try the calabrese if they want an alternative to pizza but still crave a zesty Italian flavor. Aurelio's is located directly outside of the Nelson Woods of the Cook County Forest Preserve, so diners can hike off their meal as soon as they have paid the bill.
