Misono
Misono in the Chestnut Hill section of Boston is a Japanese and Korean restaurant that doesn't confuse its influences. To label the Korean choices extensive would be an understatement. Aside from a good selection of traditional Korean barbecue there are 11 choices of bibimbob--that delicious hodgepodge of meats, marinated vegetables and eggs. Choose the versions served in a traditional hot stone bowl that flavors and cooks the meat at your table.
Another good selection at Misono is Galbi Tang--a beef broth soup with short ribs, clear noodles radish and egg.

Jae's Cafe
Start with the spicy Korean udon soup or the spicy komchee soup with pork and tofu at Jae's Cafe on Columbus Avenue, a worm, woody honey-colored place in the South End where the general feel is more American than Asian except when the food arrives. Jae's Cafe offers a pan-Asian menu so those in your party who shy away from Korean food will have lots of other options as well. The Korean soups are a specialty here, but there is also kalbi--grilled marinated short ribs--and boneless pork loin with hot pepper and soybean sauce. For seafood lovers, there is hae dup bap--a rice and vegetable dish with tuna, salmon, white fish and octopus.
