Ichiban Noodles

A Japanese restaurant with an authentic décor to match its cuisine, Ichiban Noodles sits on a small side street just off 86th St. Easy to miss because it's off the beaten path, this little hole-in-the-wall is one of Indianapolis's best-kept secrets. The meal begins with steamed washcloths and ends with a cup of hot green tea. Meals are served in traditional lacquer lunch boxes (bento), and made-to-order sashimi and sushi rolls are a favorite appetizer. The dining area is small and intimate, as the tables are sectioned off with movable screens for additional privacy.
