Chinatown is a neighborhood east of downtown in Washington, D.C .It is the home of some very prominent landmarks like the Verizon Center, which is where concerts and sporting events are held; two Smithsonian Museums and the Spy Museum. You will know you've reached the right neighborhood when you spot the "Friendship Arch," a 60-foot-high Chinese gate that symbolizes the neighborhood's culture. Asian and Chinese restaurants are plentiful here in addition to other high-end and economically friendly restaurants.

Legal Sea Foods

Legal Sea Foods serves only lunch and dinner. It features a children's menu and a gluten-free menu. Moderately priced, the lunch and dinner menu features a seafood bar, chowders and appetizers, salads, lobster and entrees that consist of crab cakes, shrimp and fried clams. Amenities include takeout and online reservations. For parties of six or more, an 18 percent gratuity fee will be charged to your check. It is open seven days a week. The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.

Asian Spice

Located in the heart of Chinatown, this restaurant boasts of the Asian culture. Open for only lunch and dinner, Asian Spice features a sushi bar, appetizers such as Malaysian beef satay and entrees that include everything from cashew chicken to New York-style steak. It also has a menu for vegetarians. Most items on the regular menu can be modified for a vegetarian's diet by asking the server. Reservations are not required but are recommended, which can be done online. It is open seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

California Tortilla

This restaurant offers an array of specials in conjunction with neighboring businesses, such as a dinner and movie combo. In addition to your movie ticket, you get a fountain soda, salad and a burrito or quesadilla. This reasonably priced restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian burritos, soft tacos, fajitas and burrito bowls. Only serving lunch and dinner, California Tortilla is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
