Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin is a town surrounding a 10 lake chain. This unique chain of lakes provides over 4,200 acres of inter-connected waterways to explore. Fishing, boating, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing and swimming are all allowed on the lakes. The Manitowish River flows into the lakes from 44 miles away beginning in High Lake in Boulder Junction. It flows to the Flambeau Flowage with 3 portages, several canoe-in overnight campsites, and plenty of scenery along the way. The river is slow-flowing, making it good for canoeing and kayaking.

The Fawn Lake's Timber Lodge Resort is a series of vacation cabins and homes located on Fawn Lake, one in the Manitowish Waters chain. Located at the west end of Alder Lake, Bartling's Alderwood Resort has 2 bedroom cabins as well as a 4 bedroom lodge situated on a secluded bay with over 700 feet of shoreline. Shoreline features include a covered boat ramp, sandy beach swim area, and canoes and kayaks for guests. Outdoor campfires, firewood, lawn chairs and grills are all available for guests.
