Cabins in Grand Marais, Minnesota

Cabins in Grand Marais, Minnesota
Northeastern Minnesota's Grand Marais has lots to offer those who prefer to be outdoors. The city sits right on the shoreline of Lake Superior. And the Gunflint Trail, which connects the city to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, runs north out of Grand Marais. After spending time doing various outdoor activities, the cabins in the city provide good places to rest.

Anderson's North Shore Resort

Guests at Anderson's North Shore Resort can take part in all the activities popular among those who visit the region -- hiking and biking, canoeing and fishing. But when it's time to rest and relax, do so in one of the resort's four cabins that sit right on the shore of the lake. Four other cabins are available with views of the lake. The cabins, which have decks and fully-equipped kitchens, sleep two to six people. Those who stay at the cabins have easy access to the 205-mile Superior Hiking Trail, which runs all the way to the Canadian border.

Bearskin Lodge

The cabins at the Bearskin Lodge, which is located on East Bearskin Lake, are for those who want to get away from it all. Built among birch and white pine trees, the cabins have no television and no telephone (those amenities, and Internet, are available at the main lodge). The lodge includes 11 cabins that can sleep up to eight people. Some cabins are on the lake, while others are set more remotely in the woods. A fully-equipped kitchen, dock, and fireplace come standard with each cabin. Canoeing, hiking, and biking are popular activities among guests, while others prefer to just head out into the woods and see if they can spot a moose. There is a sauna and hot tub available at the lodge, as well as massage therapy for guests.
