DiMillo's Floating Restaurant
DiMillo's is an old car ferry that was converted to a floating restaurant in 1980 and is docked at Long Wharf in Portland Harbor. At DiMillo's, which serves lunch and dinner daily beginning at 11 a.m., guests will rise and fall with the tide and enjoy breathtaking views of the harbor and Old Port while dining on a menu that includes Italian dishes, the finest cuts of Beef and, of course, fresh Maine seafood.
For starters the menu features jumbo shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, Italian stuffed mushroom caps and steamed Maine clams as well as haddock chowder, New England clam chowder and lobster stew, each made fresh daily. Entree selections feature fried or broiled seafood, including haddock, whole-belly clams, native shrimp and sea scallops, or try the fisherman's platter, a combination of all four deep fried and served with onion rings. There are also steamed whole Maine lobsters, ranging in size from one pound to 2.5 pounds and larger, that can be stuffed with succulent lobster meat or crab meat for an additional charge. DiMillo's also offers lazy lobster, a dish with the lobster meat taken out of the shell and sauteed with butter and sherry.
DiMillo's features a dessert menu and has a full bar. Seafood dishes range from $18 to $24 while lobster selections start at $25 and vary depending on size. Other entrees range in price from $18 to $32.
