2223 Restaurant
2223 Restaurant is easy to find since its name is also its address. Chef Melinda Randolph cooks up American dishes in a warm, inviting atmosphere that promotes intimate conversations, and a long dinner where you find yourself lingering over drinks. The menu at 2223 Restaurant changes with seasons and availability of produce and fish, but when chef Randolph has salmon in the kitchen, she eloquently blends it with fresh ingredients to create unique dishes like the Grilled Flatbread with a smoked salmon and lemon boursin and the Mustard Glazed Loch Duarte Salmon. A full salmon meal will cost around $20. 2223 Restaurant says all their fish and meat is 100% natural and raised in humane conditions without hormones. On Tuesdays, there's a special $12 entree menu, but since the menu rotates, salmon may not be a choice on the reduced-price menu. Call ahead to make sure the dish you want is available at the price you're willing to pay.

Catch
dCatch is housed in a building that was originally a small theater and later the first location of San Francisco politician and gay rights activist, Harvey Milk's, camera shop. Catch is a great place to dine with a special companion on a chilly night, since you can enjoy your seafood by the fireside, or on the heated patio while taking in the hustle and bustle on Market Street. Catch, not surprisingly, specializes in those dishes caught from the sea. Chef Jeremias Guerra has included a salmon option in every course of the meal from appetizers to salads to entrees. Start your meal off with a Sushi Roll stuffed with tempura shrimp, smoked salmon, avocado wasabi, soy and sesame oil. You can also add blackened salmon to any salad including the Butter Lettuce Salad with pine nuts, bleu cheese and champagne walnut vinaigrette. Salmon-focused entrees include Blackened Salmon with butter beans, zucchini, green tomato lemon relish in a saffron broth, the Salmon BLT with arugula, citrus aioli and a side of french fries or Catch's signature dish, the Blackened Salmon with black eyed peas and an orange mint marmalade. A main salmon entree will cost about $20.

Osaka Sushi
The best time to visit Osaka is during happy hour, which runs every day from 4 pm to 6 pm. For two hours, you can get your fill of specially priced beer and sake and half-priced rolls. Osaka's sushi menu is big, but not fancy, instead offering many combinations using simple ingredients. Salmon choices come in several forms including basic salmon, smoked salmon and salmon roe or combined with other ingredients like avocado, various vegetables and phili-cheese. Osaka does not take reservations and can get very crowded during happy hour, so arrive early, or plan on paying full price during a less busy time. Two full-priced pieces of salmon sushi will cost about $5.
