Known as the "Gateway to Mid-coast Maine," Wiscasset is a quaint, picturesque town near the coast. Antiquing is so popular there that the local town website publishes a local antiquing map for visitors. Red's Eats, a small local takeout restaurant, has received national recognition in at least 20 media outlets as having the "best lobster roll in Maine." Nearby Boothbay also has the Boothbay Railway Village, a railroad museum where visitors can ride on a 1938 narrow-gauge steam locomotive.

Sheepscot Harbour Village & Resort is located just a few miles from Wiscasset in Edgecomb, Maine and has more than 3,000 feet of shared waterfront along the Maine coastline as well as a 700-foot-deep water pier, dock and float. Waterfront services include dock-side services, day slips, deep water moorings and help with boat storage, as well as complimentary use of dinghies.
