Hotels in Eilat, Israel

Hotels in Eilat, Israel
Eilat is home to several glitzy hotels and restaurants. Luxury hotels dot the Red Sea beachfront, which overlooks Saudi Arabia from under the shadow of steep desert cliffs. Stay toward the southern end near Taba (the Egyptian border) for a more isolated feel, or near the commercial center to be within walking distance of the busier beaches, restaurants and water sports vendors.

Eilat Nature School

The Eilat Nature School, also referred to as the Eilat Field School (Hebrew: bet sefer sadeh Eilat), belongs to the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel. The complex is outside Eilat's commercial center along Route 90, also known as Derekh Mitzrayim (Egypt Road), across from the Coral Reef Nature Reserve. The Nature School's lodging is part of Israel's network of zimmers, which are simple, countryside bed and breakfasts. The Eilat Nature School has 50 air-conditioned rooms suitable for small or large parties and guests with disabilities. The facility provides a kosher dining room, grills, in-room breakfast and free coffee and tea. Guided tours and maps are also available. Because the Nature School is outside of the city center, prepare to hail a taxi if you will not have a car or a bicycle.

The Orchid Hotel and Resort

The Orchid is one of Eilat's luxury accommodations. According to its website, the Orchid "combines the pastoral and intimate atmosphere of an exotic tropical holiday village." Nestled into the mountains facing quiet Coral Beach and the Underwater Observatory Marine Park, the Orchid's Asian-inspired style gives the hotel a unusual look. Take advantage of the swimming pools, Jacuzzi, fitness center and spa. Rent bikes to explore the coast and snorkel gear to check out the colorful underwater scene across the street. Bikes, snorkels and access to Migdalor Beach are free. Wireless Internet is available throughout the hotel. If you are traveling with children, the Orchid offers baby-sitting services and free playpen rentals. The Chao Phya restaurant serves kosher Thai cuisine on-site. The Orchid is 3 miles from the city center and 1 mile from Taba. The hotel provides transportation to and from the center every hour on the hour.
