Birch Bay, located on the far northwest corner of Washington, is a natural body of water whose name is often associated with the community that surrounds it. It is just south of the larger city of Blaine. Birch Bay State Park is a part of the Birch Bay area and its nearly 3 miles of shoreline provides camping, hiking, fishing, boating and crabbing possibilities. The region also offers whale-watching from May until October and skiing and snowboarding at nearby Mount Baker. British Columbia, Canada, is a short drive away and provides more sandy beaches and trails for hiking and biking.

Driftwood Inn

The Driftwood Inn is a family-owned establishment located on a quiet and peaceful section of the bay. Birch Bay State Park is within walking distance and the beach sits directly across the street. The Inn offers cabins, condos, suites and studios; some offer scenic views of the bay and others are nestled against a small stream in the back of the Inn's property. The Inn requires a minimum stay of three days during the May to September peak season. There are several dining options nearby, including a Thai steakhouse and sushi restaurant.

Birch Bay Hostel & Guesthouse

The Birch Bay Hostel is located inland at Bay Horizon Park (aka Lions Camp Horizon Park) and can accommodate individuals and groups of up to 30 people. Guests can choose from private, dormitory-style and family rooms. A common area provides a library, games and a television. The on-site kitchen is shared by guests and comes with all necessary cookware, dishes and utensils. Food and drink must be provided by the guest. The establishment's property offers room for yard games, strolls, picnics and bird watching.

The American Resorts & Clubs at Birch Bay offer clean and spacious bay-front suites that come with television, microwave and refrigerator. The hotel sits directly across the street from the bay. An outdoor pool and fitness facility are on-site, as well as spa and wellness services, a restaurant and terrace. Shores Restaurant and La Cantina are nearby for further dining options and the Tradewinds Cafe & Gifts shop is within walking distance.
