Folsom, located in Delaware County in southeastern Pennsylvania, offers a variety of outdoor activities. Residents and tourists take to the walking trails and recreational fields at Clark Park, and go for a variety of mapped runs around the Swarthmore Rose Garden and the surrounding Folsom area. In addition, indoor rock climbing is staged at the Go Vertical recreational facility 17 miles east in Philadelphia. Treat yourself to a hearty meal after a day of vigorous recreation in Folsom; there are lots of choices right in town and if you're a fan of Thai food, there are a few affordable options in town and nearby.

Buppha Thai

Buppha Thai specializes in authentic Thai cuisine, including a variety of vegetarian and meat entrees such as chicken with pineapple, vegetable rolls, tofu triangles and spider eggplant with shrimp. The restaurant has an intimate environment with a business casual dress code, and is a popular spot for dates and group gatherings. Entrees are reasonably priced and takeout is available.

Heng's Thai Cuisine

Just seven minutes from Folsom, in nearby Springfield, this is one of the more popular Thai restaurants in the area. It specializes in Thai, sushi and sashimi, and offers a variety of classic dishes such as shrimp pad Thai, Thai barbecue chicken and tom yum soup. Heng's Thai also serves a variety of vegetarian dishes, including vegetable stir-fries and tofu entrees. Open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner, the BYOB restaurant is reasonably priced, kid-friendly and has an intimate, casual atmosphere with low lighting and soft music. Delivery is available.

Mikado Thai Pepper

Another Thai restaurant located just minutes from downtown Folsom is Mikado Thai Pepper, a quaint eatery in nearby Ardmore. Mikado Thai Pepper specializes in authentic Thai and Japanese cuisine, including sushi, sashimi, tempura and classic Thai dishes. Specialties include vegetable pad thai, sauteed chicken in a spicy lemon sauce and tom yum soup. The restaurant also offers Shabu Shabu, a two-person entree comprised of beef and vegetables that can be cooked at your table on request. The atmosphere is inviting and family-friendly, with moderate lighting and spacious tables. Mikado Thai Pepper is open for lunch Monday through Saturday, and for dinner seven days per week. The restaurant has a BYOB policy and reservations are suggested, particularly for groups who wish to order Shabu Shabu. Take-out is available.
