Bike and Roll Washington, DC, is the premier company producing bicycle tours of the city led by professional tour guides. Its five standard tours include two dramatic evening tours of floodlight-illuminated memorials, White House, Washington Monument, Capitol and other historic sites. Bike and Roll also provides customized private tours for corporate and family groups as large as 200.

Capital Sites Tours

During "Capital Sites" tours, the most comprehensive standard tours offered by Bike and Roll Washington, DC, bicycle enthusiasts peddle past the National Mall and Capitol Hill, where they see the Capitol, Supreme Court, museums of the Smithsonian Institution, the Washington Monument and the World War II Memorial. This 3-hour tour covers 7 to 8 miles and starts at 10 a.m. daily from mid-March until nearly the end of November.

"Capital Sites @ Night" tours start at 6:00 p.m. As night falls, cyclists get an amazing illuminated view. This 3-hour tour covers 7 to 8 miles and operates every evening, except Wednesdays, from June through August.

Monuments Tours

"Monuments" tours, from Bike and Roll Washington, DC, take bike-riding tourists to the National Mall and Potomac Tidal Basin, where they see the Washington Monument and the memorials for Jefferson, Lincoln, World War II, Vietnam Veterans and more. This 3-hour tour covers 4 miles and operates daily, usually at 2:30 p.m., from mid-March until near the end of November.

"Monument Sites @ Night" tours usually start at 6:30 and 7 p.m. The monuments are freer of clouds and the views are magnificent. At some sites participants are able to park their bikes, walk around, look at the architecture and take photographs. This 3-hour tour also covers 4 miles and operates every evening, except Wednesdays, from June through August.

Blossoms Tours

Bike and Roll Washington, DC, "Blossoms" bicycle tours enable tourists to see the cherry blossoms without getting stuck in traffic. A sea of pink and white blossoms surrounds cyclists from the Potomac Tidal Basin to East Potomac Park and beyond. This 2-hour tour covers 5 to 6 miles and is available at 9:30 a.m., noon and 3 p.m for 9 days during the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Customized Private Tours

Safety

Bicycle, helmet, bottled water and snack are included. Before night tours begin, riders don reflective vests and safety lights provided by Bike and Roll. Tours start with a safety and bike usage talk. Tour routes are on paths, trails and sidewalks. High winds, thunderstorms, excessive heat or cold, or other severe condition threatening participant safety will cause tour cancellation.

Parking

Most parking garages in Washington, D.C., close relatively early, many by 9 pm. Check signs for closing time information before leaving your car at a garage late in the afternoon or evenings.

Temporary parking restrictions are common in the Washington, D.C., central business district. Check the dates on any temporary "No Parking" signs before parking.
