The center of Ohio and the capital of the state, Columbus is home to many beautiful attractions. Mitchell's Steakhouse

An award-winning restaurant that serves steak and seafood, Mictchell's Steakhouse prides itself in prime steaks that are aged to perfection and homemade side dishes. Featuring more than 200 of the world's finest wines, Mitchell's was awarded the 2006 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Open for lunch and dinner, the vast menu features so many options that it will be hard to choose. The lunch menu offers a salmon steak served with preserved lemon and white wine butter as well as lobster macaroni and cheese that features Maine lobster and Vermont cheddar. The even larger dinner menu serves up filet Oscar with asparagus and New York au poivre with pepper crust and cognac peppercorn sauce, among many other choices. Be sure to save room for the apple bread pudding that's on the dessert menu. The restaurant also features private dining in the wine vault, which features the original vault door from when the building was a bank. Reservations are recommended.

Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse

Situated across from the Greater Columbus Convention Center, Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse is just a few blocks from all major downtown hotels, making it a dining option for travelers and locals alike. Offering outdoor dining with downtown views, as well as six private and semi-private dining areas, Hyde Park offers an extensive menu, including more than 50 wines by the glass. Voted "Best Steakhouse" annually since 1988, the menu includes traditional angus burgers as well as grilled fresh salmon, French dip, and jumbo lump crab cakes. The barbecue pork shank is also a customer favorite. The featured lunch menu changes monthly and includes many seafood options that are flown in fresh daily. The open and modern decor and valet parking offers a sophisticated atmosphere. Reservations are recommended.

The Top Steakhouse

Listed as one of the top beef steakhouses in the United States by celebrity chefs, The Top Steakhouse has been open for more than 50 years and is locally and independently run. Open seven days a week and featuring a retro ambiance that has been intact since the initial opening, the restaurant specializes in customer favorites such as filets, strips, prime rib and cold-water lobster tail. The dinner menu includes items such as bone-in Kansas City strip, porterhouse steaks, and lamb loin chops. Seasonal desserts are made daily. Adding to the food is the decor. Featuring dark, rich colors, a fireplace and a piano bar, the restaurant features a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. Live pianists play four nights a week, while '50s and '60s crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett are played over the speakers on other nights.
