Arlington is one of the northern Virginia suburbs near Washington, D.C. While it's a popular destination both for tourists (who come to visit the Arlington National Cemetery as well as the various other sites and monuments in the area) and business travelers, those visiting Arlington have plenty of recreational choices in the city and surrounding areas. A trip to Arlington could include hiking, bicycling, golfing or playing tennis. There are plenty of hotels in the city, most which offer easy access to public transit or highways for those who are driving.

Key Bridge Marriott is four miles from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and just three blocks from a major Metro stop. The entire property is non-smoking. Clarion Collection Hotel Arlington Court Suites may be an ideal choice for outdoor enthusiasts traveling with a pet cat or dog. The hotel permits one pet, weighing no more than 75 pounds, in each guest room. As of 2009, the first night's pet fee is $75; each additional night incurs a $10 charge. Sheraton National Hotel offers among its menu of guest services a heated rooftop outdoor swimming pool. Since it is enclosed, the pool is open year-round. Other amenities include a fitness club, on-site restaurant serving dishes like steak and seafood, seasonal rooftop sundeck, concierge desk and free airport transportation. Sheraton National Hotel is entirely non-smoking. In-room high-speed Internet service incurs an additional daily fee. Accommodations include bathrobes, pillow-top beds, and available in-room video games and movies. Rooms with microwaves can be requested.
