Hotels in Liverpool, New York

Liverpool, a town located in Onondaga County, N.Y., is situated on the eastern shores of Onondaga Lake. A large suburb of nearby Syracuse, the area is primarily residential. Its proximity to Hancock International Airport as well as the Carousel Center, one of the largest shopping malls in the Northeast, make it a popular area for visitors. Room rates in the Liverpool area tend to be a bit less expensive than in nearby downtown Syracuse. A stay in Liverpool would not be complete without a trip (or two) to Heid's of Liverpool, possibly the greatest hot dog stand in the country. Featuring Hoffman franks and coneys (white hot dogs made of veal), you'll be glad your hotel is close to this Liverpool institution.

After eating a few of the delectable franks, a visit to Onondaga lake (across the street from Heids) will present you with one of the saltiest lakes in the world (much more saline than the Great Salt Lake in Utah). The home of several rowing championships, numerous parks dot this historic lake as well as museums dedicated to the history of the area.
